After twelve years in the German Armed Forces, shaped by leadership responsibilities as an officer and a degree in IT, I transitioned into the civilian workforce and joined Tagueri. The start in consulting gave me the flexibility I was looking for: broad involvement, deepening expertise, and taking on responsibility. The very things that shaped me as an officer – quick situational awareness, clear conclusions, and decisive action – could be directly applied to my client projects and helped me fulfill my role effectively. When speaking with soldiers, I am often asked what the start and development at Tagueri can look like. After my time in the German Armed Forces, I chose to take a new path. Right after earning my project management certification, I joined Tagueri. The start was both exciting and challenging: while I had held diverse and intensive personnel responsibilities during my years of service in the Navy, my first projects at Tagueri gave me the time to settle in professionally and truly get to know our clients. Even though I initially missed having personnel responsibility, looking back, that phase helped me develop a deeper understanding of our projects and our clients' needs. Especially in working with clients, I constantly see how much my military experience shapes me: the ability to empathize with others, take responsibility, identify decision needs early, and address them openly. My connection to the German Armed Forces has never faded. I am actively involved in the network of former officers and serve as a lecturer in project management at the German Armed Forces Command and Staff College as part of my reserve duties.

With a degree in electrical engineering from the German Armed Forces, I entered the world of signals intelligence. At the age of 30, I made a decision to end my career as an officer. I wanted to try something new, began a part-time MBA program, and then fully transitioned into the civilian workforce. Starting out meant a noticeable step down in terms of career level and salary, but looking back, the decision to reorient myself has more than paid off. The early leadership experience I gained in the military helped me succeed quickly at Tagueri. I was also able to apply my passion for technology across different products and industries. Tagueri is dynamic. That was a real shift in perspective compared to the Bundeswehr, but one that came with many familiar values: team spirit, trust, and a clear recognition of performance.
